Our Rules
We care passionately about our site and our land. Every tree and field has been planted and lovingly tended by our founder and owner Iggy, the Shedrock Outlaw himself. He was born on this land and has been its steward since he was a child. He loves sharing the beauty of the landscape with our camping guests. If you are wanting a peaceful time in beautiful natural surroundings, we’ve got you covered. Whilst we try and keep a relaxing and nourishing space and encourage and support alternative ways of living, we do have rules that we expect all of our guests to abide by so that everyone who stays with us can enjoy the space equally. If you can’t agree to these rules, we unfortunately can’t welcome you to Aarons Campsite.
We have helpful and friendly staff who will ensure that the rules are adhered to - if you need help or clarification on anything then please just ask. And tell us if you think someone is breaking the rules.
Please read these rules carefully before booking.
Camping
Camping check-in is at 2pm onwards on the day of arrival. Please report to reception when you arrive, not after you’ve pitched up. All guests will be issued with a wristband for your stay once we’ve checked you in, so if you haven’t got a wristband, you shouldn’t be on the camping fields.
Departure time is 12 midday. This is usually relaxed on a Sunday or a bank holiday so you don’t have to rush off.
Don’t climb on or damage the trees in any way.
Don’t climb the dry stone walls or remove stones from them for any reason.
Camp Fires
For insurance and safety purposes, you can only have a camp fire if you hire one of our purpose built fire pits. We provide everything you need for a night’s fire; firepit, kindling, and a bag of logs, for £15. Additional bags of logs are £8.
Don’t just take a firepit if you see one left on the fields; they have to be cleaned and prepared so hire one.
Barbecues are permitted if they are purpose-built and kept off the floor/grass. Don’t use cheap disposable barbeques on the grass. Don’t take stones from the walls to rest your barbeques on.
Don’t pull wood from the trees or fences.
Music and Noise
We have a licensed bar that is open Fridays and Saturdays, 6pm-12am. The party barn usually hosts music of some kind, with a regular open mic/jam session on a Friday night. We have an in-house DJ, and many of our staff are excellent musicians, including Iggy who is a fine poet and songwriter.
So Outlaws Inn is there if you want a drink and to let your hair down with a boogie to some great music of all kinds.
However, please note that we do not allow amplified music in any of the camping fields. Not on mobile phones, Bluetooth speakers, no boomboxes. No curfew, no exceptions. We have to and want to run a quiet site that is family-friendly.
We also require our guests to keep voices at a pleasant level at all times, with any conversations kept respectfully quiet after 10pm.
Children
We welcome well-behaved children when accompanied by at least one responsible adult.
Children are not permitted in the bar after 9pm; after that, they must enter the party barn via the rear.
We allow responsible and respectful 16-year-olds to camp unaccompanied, but we need two responsible parents/adults to provide contact details and vouch for them.
Please to not allow your children to climb the trees or walls, or damage the structures around the site.
Dogs
Whilst we welcome dogs at Aarons Campsite, they must be well-behaved and kept on a lead at all times. You must also ensure you clean up any dog shit and dispose of it in the bins.
Do not allow your dog to go to the toilet anywhere around people camping.
Litter and Toilets
We provide bins all over the site. Please use them to dispose of any litter. Leave the site as you find it.
We provide toilet facilities for all fields. Use them respectfully and tidily and don’t leave them dirty for others.
ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY
THIS IS A FAMILY-FRIENDLY SITE.
WE DO NOT TOLERATE ABUSIVE, THREATENING OR VIOLENT LANGUAGE OR BEHAVIOUR TOWARDS CAMPERS, RESIDENTS OR STAFF.
ANYONE verbally or physically abusing others or threatening others will be made to leave the site immediately and permanently, and the police will be called.
WE DO NOT ALLOW, TOLERATE OR CONDONE THE USE OF ILLEGAL DRUGS, OR SUBSTANCE ABUSE OF ANY KIND. Anyone found using, selling or under the influence of illegal drugs or narcotics will be made to leave the site immediately and permanently and the police will be called.
These rules will be enforced at all times without exception. No refunds will be issued to anyone made to leave the site.
